Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Dr Christian Mmadubuko has said that the state government is committed to entrenching a favourable atmosphere for the state transport industry.
Dr Mmadubbuko made this known while addressing the media over the alleged blockage of the Bridge Head by commercial bus operators over allegation of extortions.
Dr Mmadubbuko said he got information about the alleged extortions last month from an anonymous person and invited all relevant parties to his office to hear from them.
The Commissioner, who noted that the matter is still under investigation, wondered why the bus drivers blocked the major road.
He further explained that Anambra State Ministry of Transport is working with its Delta State counterpart to bring a lasting solution to the matter as the issue involves the two state governments.
He made it clear that the Willie Obiano led administration is highly determined to ensuring that nobody in the state is shortchanged under any guise promising that the issue would soon be resolved amicably.
Commercial bus drivers had yesterday blocked the Asaba axis of the Niger Bridge alleging extortions by touts.
