Bauchi hotel patrons beat guard to death, missing phone found

The New Trafford Hotel and Suites in the  Gwallameji Area of Bauchi has come into limelight because of the death of one its security guards, 23 year old Sunday Ezra who was reportedly beaten to death by yet to be identified persons.

It was reported that a phone was declared missing in the premises of the hotel and the deceased was alleged to have stolen it. His repeated claims of innocence was ignored and he was beaten and dumped in a room in the compound till he was found by his colleagues who had reported at work to take over his shift.

Sunday Ezra was reported to have slumped and lost consciousness while being beaten for the missing phone to be recovered, a corp member in the vicinity was said to have found and returned the phone but this was not enough reason to seek medical help for Sunday.

His colleague who found him with injuries to his face and fractures to his arm and leg alerted the security company who employed them both, the company sent in his supervisor who came and seeing the condition he was in placed a call to his family, reported the situation at the Yelwa Police Station and transported him to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital at around 2p.m in the Afternoon, He was pronounced dead at about 3.15pm while doctors at the hospital were trying to administer medication on him.
