After months of resisting attempts by the Nigerian Centre For Disease Control (NCDC), Kogi state has finally recorded two cases of covid-19 on Wednesday evening.
Kogi and Cross Rivers States were the only states in Nigeria that have been claiming to have no covid-19 cases in their states.
The state had come under criticism by the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and other stake holders over it’s claims that it had no cases of covid-19 and it’s handling of it’s relationship with the NCDC.
Independent sources had claimed that no less than six Coronavirus related deaths were recorded in the state in the last three weeks but the state government continued to deny this.
The new cases in Kogi were part of the 389 new cases reported by the NCDC on Wednesday.
