Reminisce and Vector Da viper quashed their beef in December, 2013. Do you know how it ended? If you don’t, sit back, grab a chair and read the full story. Let me take you back to the Genesis of the whole Saga. There have always been beef between the Yoruba speaking rappers and the English speaking rappers. The English rapper mostly look down on the Yoruba rapper before Lord of Ajasa came to shine his light on them, with the unexpected death and popularity of Dagrin, the Yoruba rappers throne was cemented. This didn’t go down well with some players in the industry. In January,2012, Reminisce released two tracks titled IF ONLY and 2much off his failed debut album “Books of Rap Stories”. In the intro of 2much, he said, Reminisce in the building, O Ta Lenu (It’s spicy), Legendury beat. In February, 2012, Sauce Kid who would be later known as Sinzu featured Vector in a track titled kitchen street, it was produced by Legendury beat too. On vector’s intro, he said “For all those boys wen they show When reminisce heard the song, he couldn’t take. On one rainy morning, he went to Sossick’s studio at Isolo, and did a one minute reply to him. Some notable line goes thus “Gulder pelu Henny all the time The reply did not catch people attention that much, some school of thought felt Reminisce should have used English in order to appeal to other Hip Hop fans who might not understand what he was saying Vector initially didn’t reply him,he only threw sublimes at Reminisce via the micro blogging site Twitter. He tweeted “I sow the truth, why would I reap lie (reply). Seems this subliminal were not enough for him, in June, 2012, AQ featured Vector on a track called distraction, a track which was motivated by Don Jazzy interview with Hip Hop world Magazine where he (Don Jazzy) urged Rappers to sing in other to appeal to a larger audience. Vector dedicated his whole 16 bars into dissing Reminisce with lines like “Cos you bleach ur skin How were they able to reconcile? It all happened in Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom state. Both music acts came to perform at Mya K’s album lunch in December, 2013. According to Reminisce, Vector walked up to him at the show, greeted him, they talk and reconciled. They even snap some pictures. Ever since then, they have been on each others track. Vector was on the 14th track off Reminisces’s Baba Hafusa album. Vector reciprocated the gesture by featuring him on King Kong remix release in April,2015. They have been best of friend ever since then. Emma Tallest |
