Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi says the Coronavirus cases in Lagos might rise upto 120,000 by July.
In a press briefing on Friday the commissioner said the projection is based on government model following the reported cases in one day.
183 cases was recorded on Thursday in the state alone , which the the highest number in a day Within the entire country.
The NCDC reported a surge in Lagos that now puts total confirmed cases to 1,491 and still remains the epicenter of the Pandemic, accounting for 42.3 percent of Nigeria’s total cases.
The commissioner however revealed that the state was currently manufacturing sample collection test kits and is working on getting more reagents.
He also noted the Hydroxychloroquine trials are starting next week.
