Nigeria makes changes in evacuation of its citizens from U.S.A

The Nigerian government has changed the date of evacuating Nigerians stranded in the USA from Sunday to Saturday this week.

The Consulate-General of Nigeria in New York announce the changes in a statement on behalf of the Nigerian mission in the USA.

Over 700 Nigerians stranded in the US will be brought back in 3 batches. As the planes could only carry 270 passengers at a time.

According to Tuesday’s statement, theA plane is expected to land at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on May 10 at 11:15 a.m.

Those already booked on Ethiopian Airlines ET 509 will now be transferred by the airline to the new flight ET 8509 on Saturday, May 9, 2020.

The projected cost for the one-way economy ticket is between 1,300 dollars (N488,800) and 1,700 dollars (N639,200) per adult, according to the consulate.
